Spanish and Flamenco

I came to Sevilla in October 2008, to live one of my life’s dreams: to be completely immersed in Spanish culture, to learn more Spanish and to experience Flamenco in the one place in the world which I believe captures the heartbeat of this truly magnificent art form. My initial plan was to “live the authentic Sevilla lifestyle” as far as possible, for two weeks. But I fell hopelessly in love with Sevilla, the people, the language and the essence of Flamenco, that I ended up extending my stay! If I didn’t have a full time job back home, I would have stayed much longer. This is why … my time in Sevilla was a truly phenomenal experience. The Spanish lessons at CLIC far exceeded my expectations and fuelled my love for this beautiful language, it’s rhythm, sound and soul. The teachers and staff are super, and the cultural activities and excursions made this experience a perfect one! Having lessons at the “Museo de Baile Flamenco” was also a spectacular experience, and my passion for Flamenco burns stronger! Anyone who loves Flamenco will feel at home in the Museo. Its authentic atmosphere impressed me, along with the photographs of Flamenco greats, like Camaron de la Isla, displayed so proudly on the walls! I will forever carry with me the spirit of the people of Sevilla – friendly, soulful, strong, fiery and beautiful people… Sevilla is now in my heart – a truly a beautiful city … my city of dreams! I’ll be back with CLIC next year…
